MetDesk API User Guide

The API is designed to bring many of MetDesk’s services into the heart of your trading operations. Users are able to pull direct feeds from the API into their own in house processes. The Power Forecasts, HDD&CDD products, Country Weighted Graphs and Load Forecasts all mirror datasets which are available on the website, and update at the same times, forecast steps and forecast horizons. Live weather Observations from around the globe can be queried for thousands of sites, while the Magma API presents a 15 day forecast for dozens of weather parameters for hundreds of sites across the globe using MetDesk’s proprietary site specific forecasting system. For those users who want to build their own forecasting processes using raw data from the world’s leading weather numerical weather models, we now make this data available easily available via the Direct Model Output API.  Simply select the weather model and parameter, then enter the latitude and longitude of the location you require and the API will return the forecast, doing away with the need for any complex grib decoding software.  A useful push notification system makes pulling data from the API swift and efficient on both side of the data transfer equation.
